Do you offer wedding ﬂower packages?
The short answer is no. Your wedding ﬂowers should be as unique as you are––we donʼt believe in one-size-ﬁts-all ﬂowers. Thatʼs why we take the time to meet with you in person, get to know you and your vision, and put together a custom design plan just for you. And the consultation is free––all it will cost you is about an hour of your time!
What is your minimum order?
$1000 for May-October events. For November-April events, we can be a bit more ﬂexible, so even if your budget isnʼt quite $1000, give us a call and weʼll see what we can work out.
Where are you located?
We serve the greater Seattle/Tacoma area from our home studio located in Enumclaw, WA. We have delivered flowers to weddings in Woodinville, Snohomish, Olympia, Port Gamble, Roache Harbor, Crystal Mountain, Auburn, Sumner, Tacoma… you name it, if it’s in Western Washington, we’ve probably worked there!
When should I schedule my consultation?
As soon as you have a date, venue, and general idea of the colors and overall look and feel youʼre hoping to create. We book a limited number of weddings each year, so the sooner, the better. 6-12 months before your wedding date is typical.
How much should I budget for ﬂowers?
A rule of thumb is 8-10 percent of your overall wedding budget. Of course, in the end itʼs up to you. Generally, $1000 will likely cover your bridal party and some ceremony decor, but not much beyond that. Of course, this all depends on the type of ﬂowers, number of attendants, style of arrangements, etc. etc. Letʼs schedule a consult and weʼll talk!
What is your delivery fee?
We deliver for free to our preferred venues. Other delivery fees depend on the distance travelled, but generally somewhere between $100 and $200. Our delivery fee also includes an hour of set-up time.
How long have you been in business?
Our ﬁrst wedding was on January 1, 2000. Paisley Petals became a full-time venture for Paula in May of 2007. So, 14 years total, 7 years full-time.
What happens if you get sick?
We successfully delivered a wedding the day Paulaʼs son was born (and every weekend for 6 weeks in a row after that) and the day after she had an emergency appendectomy. We take our work very seriously, and will do everything in our power to make sure your flowers are taken care of. We do have a team of assistants and industry friends we can call on for help in emergency situations.
Can you get me dyed blue orchids/carnations/roses, etc?
The Paisley Petals look is fresh and natural, and these types of ﬂowers just donʼt jive with that look. However, there are lots of ﬂowers that are naturally blue (or green, purple, red, etc.) and we would love to chat with you about incorporating some of those into your designs!
Whatʼs your favorite ﬂower?
This question is like asking a parent to pick their favorite child. Canʼt be done! If Iʼm forced to pick, my favorites are the ones that come and go with the seasons and arenʼt available all year––dahlias, peonies, sweet peas, ranunculus, and hyacinth to name a few!
What are the advantages to working from a home studio?
Too many to name! For one, lower overhead. Not having a storefront also allows me to focus solely on weddings and events, which are my true passion. Not getting bogged down with daily small arrangements is an ideal set-up for me. It also allows me to have a pretty great work/life balance. And Iʼm a bit on the introverted side, so having a storefront sounds a bit like a nightmare to me! I could go on and on… but working from home makes me happy, and a happy ﬂorist is a better, more creative ﬂorist.
We want you to do our bouquets, but we want aunt so-and-so whose friendʼs cousin used to own a ﬂower shop to do our centerpieces to save money. Is that OK?
Well… itʼs not our favorite. Weʼve seen this idea not turn out well a number of times. But your situation may be different. Give us a call… weʼll see what we can work out.
Do you work on events other than weddings?
Absolutely! Weʼd love to work with you on your anniversary party, vow renewal, birthday party, quinceanera, bar mitzvah, bat mitzvah, fundraiser, banquet, holiday party––you name it!
